Dr. Mayer received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Widener University with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology. She completed her Master degree in Clinical Psychology and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the Montclair State University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She completed her doctoral internship at the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, Widener University and her two-year post-doctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the RSM Psychology Center and Sports Concussion Center of New Jersey. She has had a long history of service at both Centers since 2013. In addition, she has obtained the Certificate in Cognitive Rehabilitation from the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine.​


Dr. Mayer’s many areas of expertise include neuropsychological assessments, school-based assessments, sports concussion management, cognitive rehabilitation, and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy (CBT) for adolescents and adults.  She has worked with individuals across the age span to help improve both their emotional well-being and brain health.


Dr. Mayer has presented her original research at the Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association, the Sports Neuropsychology Society Symposium, and the International Family Violence and Child Victimization Conference of the Family Research Laboratory. She has also published research in journals such as the Psychology of Violence, the Journal of Concussion, and the Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology. She has co-authored original research accepted by the International Consensus Conference of the Concussion in Sport Group (CISG) in Amsterdam. She has co-authored articles for the lay public on subjects such as the long-term symptoms of COVID-19.
